Sustainability is not just a buzzword at Hotel AMANTE near Bern-Belp Airport - it is a central guiding principle of our construction methods and our daily activities. As early as the planning phase of the hotel, a holistic energy concept was developed that not only offers maximum comfort for our guests, but also ensures the responsible use of natural resources. The focus here is on state-of-the-art building technology that combines ecological awareness and technical innovation.
Efficient heating and cooling - with groundwater
A centrepiece of our energy concept is the use of groundwater heat pumps, which provide both heating and cooling for the entire building. The natural temperature level stored in the Belper groundwater is utilised to achieve the desired indoor temperatures in an environmentally friendly and particularly energy-efficient manner - without any fossil fuels.
In winter, the heat pumps utilise the heat stored in the groundwater to keep the rooms and communal areas of the hotel at a pleasant temperature. In the summer months, however, the system is operated in reverse: The natural coolness of the groundwater ensures a pleasant room temperature - without the need for traditional air conditioning systems. This not only significantly reduces our CO₂ emissions, but also makes an active contribution to protecting the local climate.

Electricity from your own roof - our photovoltaic system
Another important component of our sustainable energy supply is the large-scale photovoltaic system on the hotel roof. With an output of 143,19 kWp it generates a considerable amount of solar power every year - enough to cover about a quarter of our total electricity consumption directly on site.
The electricity generated is primarily used in the building itself: for the building services, lighting, kitchen appliances and, of course, for the charging station in front of the hotel. This not only reduces our dependence on the public electricity grid, but also our ecological footprint - day after day, hour after hour of sunshine.
Sustainable travelling - our electric charging station
Directly in front of the hotel, our guests and visitors have access to a high-performance 30 kW e-charging station - equipped with a Type 2 connection and a CCS connection for fast charging.
We are particularly proud of the fact that the charging station is powered directly by electricity from our photovoltaic system during the day. This means that anyone charging their electric car with us is not only using energy conveniently and reliably - but also ecologically generated Solar power directly from the hotel roof.
For us, sustainability doesn't just start when we change the towels - it is deeply rooted in the building technology and infrastructure of the Hotel AMANTE Bern-Belp. Our guests enjoy the highest level of comfort in an environment that focusses on long-term responsibility towards nature and society.
